There should be an image here! The idea of laptop hunters from the Microsoft being a real threat to Apple is highly unlikely. Yes, it is true that those people who would never in a million years spend a grand on a notebook will find themselves agreeing with the same group that they’ve always fallen into. The Microsoft camp.

But those people who have decided that they have had enough of the constant malware headache seen with older releases of Windows, driver problems with newer releases of Windows, will likely welcome the chance to spend a little more for something that will not need to be upgraded anytime soon.

I think the real issue here is value vs price. OS X on a Mac, overall, provides greater value in that it will statically mean less repair costs than a similar Windows box. Despite the fact that Apple has its own malware available for infection, PCs remain the larger, slower moving target. Call it market share, bad luck, whatever. I call it a fact of life. And one that would indicate that only those with vested interest in the Windows platform…and those who enjoy repair costs, continue to believe the value that is Windows on the PC. But this is merely one man’s opinion.
