My wife and I made it back from our mini vacation visiting the grand kids in Marshall, Texas. Our daughter and son-in-law had just moved to Marshall and had purchased a historical home built in 1886. The residence was originally built for the Ginocchio family, who also owned a hotel across the street from their home. The hotel is adjacent to the T&P [Texas and Pacific] Depot which is currently being used by Amtrak.
Today the area is known as the Ginocchio District which is pictured below:
To the right is the T&P railway museum. The hotel is behind the yellow caboose just to the left of the museum. This is the home that they bought which is directly across from the hotel.
If you are ever in Marshall may I recommend stopping by the Ginocchio district and take a look at the old buildings. You will be impressed.
Comments welcome.
