There should be an image here!Do you Yahoo? If you do for search, then the chances are very good that you will soon be Binging for those search results once this Microsoft-Yahoo deal comes to fruition.

What will be interesting, is whether this improves Yahoo in any clear way or if instead, it just becomes a silly co-branded mess for both companies. Because let’s face it, two companies heading into the same path like this often times leads to a co-branded mess above all else.

What strikes me the most is the message behind why Yahoo would agree to this in the first place. As one Microsoft type put it – Bing takes away from Yahoo’s market share out of the box, not Google’s. See, Google’s following is going to take a lot more than lame toolbars and commercials. Yet with the Yahoo crowd, arguably mostly less sophisticated, it’s easy pickins’.
