With as ridiculous as Apple has been to App Store developers recently, perhaps it is time for Microsoft to take a stab at creating an app store of their very own. The phones supported might not be seen as sexy as the iPhone, but something tells me that this won’t be an issue for the target market.
Better late than never. This could be Microsoft’s slogan once their mobile marketplace goes live. And who is to say, perhaps they will shock us by providing some stellar applications for this market place right out of the box.
The one single defining win Microsoft has an opportunity to out do Apple in is with providing clarity as to what is expected of app store developers. Apple, is a lot like dealing with an oracle. Sometimes you never miss a beat and getting accepted is a breeze. Recently however, it is more like dancing on hot coals to decipher what it is Apple considers App Store material. Perhaps MS can change this with some competition?
