I must say, I have always wanted a really cool hacker keyboard from Apple – not! Actually, I would be interested in seeing how easily this firmware hack might be able to affect non-Apple keyboards. Something that I suspect is more than possible.
What is really frightening, is the growth of recent firmware exploits lately. Yes, I realize that exploiting firmware is nothing new. But for some reason, it just feels like the frequency is more in tune than ever before. Could just be me, though.
No matter which platform is affected by the above linked firmware exploit, one thing is for sure. Having the ability to be keylogged on your trusted system is no laughing matter. Worse, I am not seeing an end to this sort of thing anytime soon. And worse than that, there are likely exploits like this that have yet to surface.
