There should be an image here!While I personally have no problem with any Linux usable technology company making deals with Microsoft or anyone else. That being said, I am not sure that further perpetuating the FUD factor of Microsoft’s roster of IP licenses is really something to be issuing press releases over.

We have watched as Linspire burned in flames shortly after such a deal, despite its takeover being unrelated. And other companies dealing with Linux technologies making similar deals are also generally shunned fairly heavily by the Linux community. Still, if this is what Tuxera wants to do, then that is frankly fine with me as I have nothing to do with their products or company.

With TomTom being sued at one point over Microsoft patents, I am not really all that shocked to see more non-community projects being taken to court over FAT based technologies. Besides, maybe Microsoft sends along a hat and mug with every soul sold? Anything is possible…
