So I was reviewing a Twitter gone wild sort of site called “Woofer.” Designed to encourage as much text as possible in a tweet, I noticed that today Woofer was featuring a tweet explaining that perhaps all of those folks rocking their own tinfoil hats might not actually be mentally ill. No, based on what I am reading here, I think they may have simply been early adopters. According to the above linked page, there is actually a patent out there for beaming a signal into a subject’s head! How wild is that?
So what does all of this really mean? Well, I see this as breaking down into a few different things. First of all, Woofer is clearly not really making your Twitter tweets any longer, it is merely providing you with a larger text box to work with.
Second, next time you see some dude rolling by on a bicycle with a tinfoil helmet, it might be high time to give him an authoritative nod as thanks to this post, you are now “in the know.” And last, there are some REALLY weird patents out there. No really, you should scroll through this some time — the contents here might shock you.
