I have been using RSS since the very beginning. Long before it was trendy or many applications supported it, I was relying on RSS for my blog updates. News sites at the time were not using RSS yet as they thought of it as a fad. They were so wrong.
Today we have the next big thing in RSS — RSSCloud. What this translates into is the real-time updating of RSS feeds instead of needing to poll them on any sort of set schedule. Clearly, this is huge for both WordPress users and their readers.
The only downside is that there is only one reader currently supporting RSSCloud at the moment. The good news is that this is a product from the father of RSS himself. Sadly though, he has yet to release a Linux client for gather feeds with RSSCloud as of yet.
