Rupert Murdoch continues to attack Google blaming the search giant for News Corp’s problems. In another of his attacks, Murdoch continues to threaten Google and continues to pound on his chest stating he will remove his news content from Google search. But it appears Murdoch may have bitten off more than he can chew. In a recent news article there is this:
During a conference call to discuss News Corp first quarter financial results, the media magnate said he couldn’t promise to meet his own deadline – but did say it remained a work in progress and “we are all working very hard” on delivering the pay solution.
Google on the other hand doesn’t seem to think there are any issues about removing any and all News Corp’s businesses from its search engine:
A spokesman for the search giant said: “Google News and web search are a tremendous source of promotion for news organisations, sending them about 100,000 clicks every minute.
“Publishers put their content on the web because they want it to be found, so very few choose not to include their material in Google News and web search. But if they tell us not to include it, we don’t.”
Removing it’s content from Google search seems to be rather simple. Yet during the past few months Murdoch has been running around the world making idle threats. Heh, dude. Do it already and move on.
