There should be an image here! It’s been a long time time coming, see the iPhone hit South Korean shelves. With the problems of trade barriers with the local mobile companies in play, I think that a number of people were skeptical about the iPhone ever actually making its way into the stores there.

Lucky for Apple however, that it appears that they are somehow except from this trade barrier, one that is really a type of protectionism likely helping no one. In the end, it seems that Apple was able to turn the entire situation into a win for them and potential users.

As one filmmaker in Seoul points out, the media has been quite critical of the phone. But as it turns out, these same media types came to these conclusions without actually trying the phone itself. Sound familiar?
