I’m a firm believer in leaving it to the experts which is why I take advantage of the design templates in PowerPoint. These templates, which have been designed by skilled design professionals, make it easier for someone like me with little design experience to create a well designed presentation.
A design template contains the type and size of bullets and fonts, placeholder sizes and positions, background design and fill color schemes, a slide master and an optional title master. By using a design template to a presentation, such preconfigured elements are applied to a presentation, allowing you to focus on content as opposed to design aspects.
To apply a design template to an entire presentation in PowerPoint 2003:
- Open your PowerPoint presentation.
- On the Formatting toolbar, click Design.
- Click the template which you want to apply.
Conversely, you also have the option of applying a template to a single slide or select slides, as opposed to all slides.
