I have been a generally happy OpenOffice user since my Windows days. Today on Linux, I still prefer this office suite over any other paid or freely available. It just meets my needs perfectly. It’s fantastic.
Today I learned that there is a passing of the old into the new. With version 3.2 just around the corner we will be saying goodbye to support for 2.x versions of Oo it seems.
Not all is lost, however, as the critical thing is that the project continues despite a rocking year for Oo. I, for one, simply cannot rely on stuff like Google Docs as it is just not “there” as much for me as a localized office suite. But perhaps I am alone with this?
