Today I woke up to a post on Facebook that said the following:

Shame on you america: the only country where we have homeless without shelter, children going to bed without eating, elderlygoing without needed meds, and mentally ill without treatment – yet we have a benefit for the people for the people of haiti on 12 tv stations.. 99% of people won’t have the guts to copy and repost this.

I logged in again this afternoon, and to my amazement found that many others had reposted the same thing. I don’t understand the thinking when people decide to post these things. Perhaps it isn’t a reflection on what people really think. Maybe they simply cave in to the dare that “99% of people won’t have the guts to copy and repost this.” At least, that’s what I hope it is and people aren’t truly this uninformed.

The poorest nation had a huge,¬†catastrophic¬†event. Hundreds of thousands of people are missing or dead. I could go on, but I can assure you it’s nowhere near in comparison to anything going on in our country right now where food is plentiful and we can drink clean water anytime we like. War included.
