The public relations nightmare and safety issues for Toyota continue. The product now in question is the Toyota Camry:
“… in each of those three fatal episodes, the car involved was a 2005 Toyota Camry, a model that the company has indicated is free of the acceleration defects: It has not been recalled for either the sticky pedal or the floor mat interference.
“This raises a huge red flag,” said Clarence Ditlow, director of the Center for Auto Safety.”
Presently, the Toyota Camry is not part of the recent recalls of this manufacturer’s product line. It is not surprising that, in light of ongoing product problems and litigation, Toyota is guarded in issuing any comments. However, for Camry owners, this is information is absolutely relevant for making some basic automotive safety decisions.
