Microsoft has released a cumulative patch for its Internet Explorer browser that fixes a wide variety of problems. According to Microsoft, the patch fixes nine vulnerabilities and is a must get for those who are using IE 6 and 7. According to Microsoft, the problem is only rated as moderate for IE 8. The release is being made two weeks before the scheduled release of patches known as patch Tuesday, which means this is a serious flaw and needs to be patched immediately.
Microsoft also states:
Recommendation. The majority of customers have automatic updating enabled and will not need to take any action because this security update will be downloaded and installed automatically. Customers who have not enabled automatic updating need to check for updates and install this update manually.
