I’m already getting excited about PowerPoint 2010. I’ve been exploring some of the new features and already have my list of favorites. One of the things I already love about PowerPoint 2010 is that you can turn your mouse pointer into a laser pointer during a slide show (or from within other views).

If you’re using PowerPoint 2010 beta, try using the laser pointer.

  1. To use the laser pointer in Slide Show view, on the Slide Show tab, in the Start Slide Show group, click either From Beginning or From Current Slide to start your slide show. To use the laser pointer in Reading view, on the View tab, in the Presentation Views group, click Reading View.
  2. Press and hold CTRL, click the left mouse button, and point to the contents on the slide that you want to draw attention to.
