Twitter users continue to be hit with problems while trying to visit the site. The classic “Too many tweets” message is becoming commonplace again. The constant issues have been continually frustrating users, prompting an engineer for Twitter to comment on this week’s round of issues.

Jean-Paul Cozzatti stated that the engineering team made three critical mistakes (via Mashable):

  • The team put two important, fast-growing, high-bandwidth components on the same segment of Twitter’s internal network.
  • The network wasn’t being monitored the way it should have been.
  • The internal network was also temporarily misconfigured.

It reminds me of the days when MySpace was growing and couldn’t keep up. I often post my immediate thoughts on Twitter. The inability to get something I want to badly share out to my followers is absolutely maddening.
