In another article, we talked about how you can tether your iPhone with the proper tools. Seems that you can do the same thing with the Motorola Droid. Unfortunately, it looks a bit more involved when trying to tether this phone with Ubuntu.
After looking this guide over, it appears to be completely doable. Sadly though, I lack a Droid myself to do any testing with.
My take on this is that I don’t mind a bit of setup being involved initially, but having to rely on a script to start the modem each time is a bit of a buzz kill. That aside, the good news is that a comprehensive tutorial does exist as you can see in the link above. It’s kind of odd, as it seems the more closed off iPhone, is much easier to tether.
