Microsoft Word add-ins are designed to give additional functionality to the application. There are many third-party Word add-ins available for free. Keep in mind though that as you install more add-ins, it takes longer for Word to open. So if you don’t plan on using an add-in that you have installed, you should remove it.

You can easily remove a Word2007 add-in using the steps described below.

  1. With Word, click the Microsoft Office button.
  2. Click Word Options.
  3. Click Add-ins.
  4. Click the drop-down arrow beside Manage and select the type of add-in that you want to remove, such as COM Add-ins or Word Add-ins. Click Go. A window appears listing the add-ins currently installed.
  5. From the list, select the add-in you want to remove and click Remove.
