The Cisco Cius [pronounced See-us], is going to be an iPad styled tablet that is being designed for that business person on the go. The list of features will make Apple iPad users drool, since this tablet is going to be awesome. According to a blurb by Cisco, this tablet will be a:

“…mobile collaboration tablet that delivers virtual desktop integration with anywhere, anytime access to the full range of Cisco collaboration and communication applications, including HD video.”

Using Google’s Android operating system this open source based tablet will feature some of Cisco’s collaboration tools that the company has been working on the past few years. For starters the tablet will feature a HD 720p built in camera¬† that will make conferencing present a crystal clear picture. Wi-Fi enabled and includes a rear facing 5 megapixel camera.

But is this a device for consumers?  This most likely is going to fill a niche market for mainly business users who want a portable tablet that offers video conferencing. To compare this unit to an iPad would not be fair, since the iPad is a consumer device for entertainment and the Cius will be a work tablet.
