When I arrived in Spokane yesterday to speak at the Social Media and Marketing, Advertising and PR Community Event, I was surprised and touched to see the billboard above the Bing Crosby Theater. Even though I hate the label “guru,” it was still pretty cool that someone thought enough of me to want to attach that word to my name.

So… how DOES one become a guru or expert in social media? I have a feeling there’s more to it than simply having a Twitter account or a Facebook page.
