I’m not sure if I’m going blind in my old age or if web sites are just using smaller font these days. It may also be an issue because of the higher resolution monitors I’ve been using. Either way, I have come across many web sites where the text is too small and unreadable. I often have to zoom in and make the text larger in my browser.
As a user of 3 different browsers (Chrome, IE and Firefox) I always struggle to find the menu where I can increase the font size. I never remember where it is. Today I discovered a universal way to increase the font on any web page.
- Hold down the CTRL key while spinning the mouse wheel up to zoom in.
- Hold CTRL key while spinning the mouse wheel down to zoom out.
Don’t have a wheel on your mouse? No problem!
- Hold CTRL down while pressing the plus key (+) to zoom in.
- Hold CTRL down while pressing the minus key (–) to zoom out.
These options work across most browsers.
