Windows 7 includes a hidden power efficiency diagnostic utility that you can use to generate a power efficiency report for your computer. When you run the utility, it monitors your computer for 60 seconds to identify areas where power is wasted. After 60 seconds, a report is generated that shows errors, warnings, and other information related to your computer’s power efficiency.
To generate a power efficiency report:
- Click Start, type cmd. Hold down CTRL + SHIFT and press Enter.
- Type powercgf /energy and press Enter.
The power efficiency report is saved to c:windowssystem32.
