April 2000, Microsoft released its mobile operating system, Windows Mobile. For a long time this mobile operating system was the dominate creature for mobile operating systems. But, things change after Apple released its iPhone, and completely altered the mobile OS market. With the increase by Google’s mobile platform Android, Windows Mobile fell to the back of the pack.

Microsoft has finally decided to take hold of the new smart-phone era. The developers got rid of the stylus and developed a completely new, touch-friendly UI. Integration with other Microsoft services Xbox Live and Bing, as well as social networks such as Facebook, Windows Phone 7 is making a huge leap back into the mobile OS market.
