Word 2007, as well as the other Office applications, includes its own diagnostic utility called the Microsoft Office Diagnostics. The utility performs a series of diagnostic test to determine what is wrong and how to resolve the issue.
Before you run the utility, make sure you have the Microsoft Office installation disk. To start the diagnostic process, close any other programs that are open and connect to the Internet. Within Word 2007:
- Click the Microsoft Office button.
- Click Word Options.
- Click Resources.
- Click the Diagnose button.
- Click Continue and then click Run Diagnostics.
In the event that Word 2007 won’t even start, you can still run the diagnostic utility. Click Start, point to All Programs, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Office Tools and Microsoft Office Diagnostics.
