As with many first time releases, Windows Phone 7 is lacking a lot of features that smartphone users are used to. Microsoft seems to be on the case though, as they are already planning to add cut & pasted features within a few weeks. With the U.S. release right around the corner, consumers may want to know what’s missing from the OS. Here’s a list of the most notable.

  • Cut & paste
  • Multitasking
  • Syncing with local Outlook (You’ll have to migrate to Windows Live)
  • Ability to use personal music as ringtones
  • PC drive mounting. You HAVE to use Zune to copy files
  • Tethering
  • Signal bar on home screen
  • Home screen Widgets/gadgets
  • Folders
  • Ability to delete multiple items (i.e. photos, videos, etc) from phone

This list makes me wonder why anybody would want a Windows Phone 7 device at launch. I’d definitely wait for at least 2 major updates to be released before buying.
