After calling around and talking to customers, it seems that Windows Phone 7 devices are selling out in many locations. Of course, manufacturers could be pulling a Nintendo by withholding stock in order to create a demand for the phones.  Still, sales seem to be much better than the measly 500 Kin models Microsoft sold.

So who are the people who are buying these devices? Experts had pointed toward BlackBerry users wanting a different enterprise option. However, it seems that many iPhone users showed up at AT&T stores this morning looking to migrate to the Windows Phone 7 devices. iPhone users were overheard saying that reception issues are the reason for the switch.

If that’s really the case, I’m not so sure that switching the phone will do anything for them as long as they are on the AT&T network, but it’ll sure be interesting to see how all of this pans out.
