In an event that absolutely no one could ever have seen coming, the US has banned ink cartridges from passenger flights, in the wake of last month’s bomb plot.

The ban affects printer cartridges over sixteen ounces (forty seven French grams).

There is no word, however, on whether the ban will affect black cartridges only, or mono cartridges of any single color.  Multi-color cartridges have not been banned.

Transportation secratary Janet Napoleon, so-named for the fact that she always stands with one finger in her belly button, has refused speculation on whether the ban will be expanded to cover inkjet cartridges as well as toner.  She said that if she releases that information, the terrorists will have won.

The ban was also expanded to include any cargo from Somalia because, Napoleon said, “It’s a dank little country and we don’t like it very much.”
