Normally, if you want to insert screen shots of a Web page into a presentation, you have to take a screen shot of the page and insert it into your presentation as an image. The problem with this is that by the time you delivered your presentation, the Web page could be out of date. If it’s important to show the most current version of a Web page, a better solution is to use the LiveWeb add-in which lets you use live information from the Internet in your presentations.
First, navigate here and download the correct version of LiveWeb for your version of PowerPoint. Once you download the zip file, extract it as normal and complete the remaining steps described below:
- Within PowerPoint, open the Options window. For example, if PPT 2010, click Options from the File menu.
- Select Add-ins.
- Select PowerPoint Add-ins from the Manage menu. Click Go.
- Click Add New.
- Browse to and select the folder where you extracted the LiveWeb zip file.
- If prompted, click Enable Macros.
Next, start experimenting with Live Web. To insert live internet data, from the Insert tab, click Web Page from the LiveWeb section. The LiveWeb wizard walks you through the process of adding a live Web page.
