We are all familiar with Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, when millions of shoppers hit the mega retail stores to buy sale items. Next came Cyber Monday which also followed the Thanksgiving holiday and Black Friday. Some of the same giant retailers sell their wares on Cyber Monday at huge discounts and also attract millions of shoppers.
But the retailer who gets forgotten is the small business owners who operate the mom and pop shops around this country and around the world.
On the support Small Business Saturday site it states:
November 27, 2010 is the first-ever Small Business SaturdaySM.
A day to come together in support of the small businesses we love.
The shops and restaurants that employ our neighbors and reinvest our money close to home.
The businesses that are the heartbeat of our communities and local economies.
So if you wish to support your local community small businesses, join in Small Business Saturday on November 27, 2010.
