Our government seems to love acronyms, so much so that I can actually use “alphabet agencies” to collectively refer to NSA, FBI, CIA, etc.,

Boing! Boing! pointed me to an article at The Washington Post which reports;

“The CIA has launched a task force to assess the impact of the exposure of thousands of U.S. diplomatic cables and military files by WikiLeaks.”

The Post continues;

“Officially, the panel is called the WikiLeaks Task Force. But at CIA headquarters, it’s mainly known by its all-too-apt acronym: W.T.F.”

OMG get SRS but still LOL and ROTF. It is funny but it is also very sad.

The article also talks about some system called SIPRNET but doesn’t actually tell us what it means! I mean that is totally FUBAR. I read the article completely and it seems that the CIA’s focus is the leaks and security. I mean honestly, they are an agency of secrets, the goal is secrecy and not openness.

If the CIA can not keep secrets, they fear they will be hindered in recruiting informants and in foreign affairs. In a spy vs spy manner, it makes sense. But, what about all of the other governmental alphabet agencies?

I haven’t heard much about internal investigations regarding participation in leaked despicable acts while. Well, short of one PFC who has vanished into confinement. Also, remember it is not the actions of our government that are the problem, the problem is the actions were leaked. You know, WTF might fit pretty darn good.

I wonder if we could get some type of SMART team started? SMART could stand for Swift Moral Assessment with Rapid Termination. It could look into some of the alleged acts and take action on the acts… not the leaks. It just shows that things remain in a SNAFU state with our leaders.
