Our sympathies to Gabrielle Giffords, her family, and the families of those who lost their lives in the senseless shooting in Tucson, Arizona.

In a bid to trump the wanton senselessness of the shooting, the press has gone apeshit in over and under-reporting the facts and reactions around the shooting.

What all of the mainstream media failed to report is that the shooter, Jared Lee Loughner, is a military recruit at MEPS in Phoenix.  Why do you suppose they overlooked that tiny, irrelevant fact?  Can you say psyop?  I knew you could.

It was reported that Giffords regained consciousness.  Then it was reported that she did not, in fact, regain consciousness.  I have seen some ill-informed members of the press, as well as some that could barely be called press, but until now I have never seen one who can’t distinguish waking up from in a coma.  It’s like reporting her dead when she was alive – it doesn’t take the skill of a brain surgeon to discern the difference.

The gun grabbers will be out in full force, starting with Carolyn McCarthy‘s (D-NY) attempt.

McCarthy said she plans to confer with House Speaker John Boehner and Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi to see “if we can work something through” in the coming week.

Interestingly enough, this has made the resolution of gun-carriers stronger.

The person of interest that the police were looking for turned out to be less interesting than they thought: he was the shooter’s cab driver.  Note that he was definitely not his handler, nor did he wear a polka-dotted dress.

In further confused news, a British newspaper blamed right-wing rhetoric for the shooting.

Words don’t kill people.  People shooting people kill people.
