As you create and edit your Word documents, you will undoubtedly need to move a section break. To move a section break, you first need to find it. I would recommend working in Draft view as its much easier to work with section breaks in this view.
To switch to Draft view, click the View tab and click Draft within the Document Views group. Once you’re in Draft view, a section break appears as a thing double line across the document.
Now, to move a section break in Word 2007:
- Select the section break the same way you would select any other character.
- Press Cut within the Clipboard group. Alternatively, press Ctrl + X.
- Position the insertion point where you want to insert the section break.
- Within the Clipboard group, press Paste. Alternatively, press Ctrl + V. The section break is inserted in your document.
If you’re working in Print Layout view, section breaks are not visible until you press Ctrl + * to show non-printing characters. Once the sections breaks are visible, you can move them using the same steps described above.
