The great thing about Facebook is being able to share exactly what you are doing with all of your friends – no matter where you are. You can update your Facebook status from you home computer or PC at Facebook.com, but if you’re on the go – especially as much as I am – you may want to set your Facebook status from your phone to share all the details about what your friend just said, the great band you just heard, or to gossip about the cute (or, not-so-cute) guy or girl flirting with you from across the bar.
To set your Facebook status from your phone, you can either use SMS text message, point your phone’s mobile browser to Facebook.com, or download an app if you use a smartphone and set your Facebook status directly from your app.
To update your Facebook status using SMS, you will first need a Facebook account. Then, you can set up Facebook Text Messages, which will allow you to update your Facebook Status by SMS, by texting 32665 (FBOOK). To update your status, simply type in your status. Here are a few other things you can do with SMS, too, including messaging your friends or posting on their wall:
Message msg john smith what’s up
Search search john smith
Get cell # cell john smith
Wall Post wall john smith happy birthday
Add friend by name add john smith
Add friend by phone number 1234567890
Additionally, you can visit Facebook.com using your phone’s browser to set your Facebook status. If you have an iPhone, Palm, Sony Ericsson, INQ, Blackberry, Nokia, Android, Windows Phone or Sidekick, an interactive application is available just for your phone as well. Visit www.facebook.com/mobile/ to download the right Facebook app for your phone so you can set your Facebook status from your phone.
