I was watching CBS news this morning and they announced they would be covering the Royal Wedding starting on Friday, April 29th at 4:00 am eastern time. Even though I wish the royal couple well in their marriage, I doubt if I will be getting up this early to watch the proceedings. For those of us who would like to view the ceremonies you can do so by visiting the Official Royal Wedding site.

The Official Royal Wedding Web site will provide information and video for the service itself, the procession, and also the wedding reception. In addition there is background information about the royal couple and a link to donate to charity in lieu of a wedding gift, which the couple prefers.

Those who prefer taking part in the ceremonies can jump on over to YouTube and join the fun at The Royal Channel, The Official Channel Of The Royal Monarchy. You can even leave a wedding message for the happy couple, view the procession map, and sign the wedding book all without leaving the comfort of your living room.

People.com also has provided an interactive map for those who are lucky to have made the trip to London, England. The map will take you around the area in London and outside of the surrounding areas where the Royals will be. In addition there is a list of ‘hot spots’ where Kate and Will hang out. Included on the People.com Web site are 26 facts about the Royals that are sure to surprise you, plus a live blog feed one can sign up for. Fact: Ellen Degeneres is a 15th cousin of Kate Middleton. Sorry, but Ellen wasn’t invited to the wedding. However, Kate did invite the owner of her favorite local town pub.

The great thing about this wedding is that it will be the first time that we will have access to such an event via the Internet. When Charles and Di were married, the Internet didn’t exist. For those of us who viewed the wedding back in 1981, we were confined to what we saw on the TV or in newspapers. Today we have iPhones, iPods, iPads, and other devices that we can sneak into work to keep track of events as they happen.

Let the festivities and fun begin.
