Sure, shopping online is the easy way to go when the holidays are fast approaching. You don’t have to worry about parking or crowds or psychotic housewives shaking you down for grabbing the last [insert every-brat-must-have toy of the season that no store can stock quickly enough]. But if you dig games of the Nintendo persuasion, venturing out to the mayhem-stricken mall may just be worth it this holiday shopping season.
From November 21st to December 18th, Nintendo will be setting up camp in two dozen malls to give the masses some hands-on time with its games and systems as it’s done since 2006. Shoppers stopping by will get to check out what’s new for the Nintendo DS, 3DS and Wii systems, and patrons of 10 lucky malls will get to enjoy an earlier pre-event — from November 11th to November 20th — to preview The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword for the Wii.
Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales and Marketing, says: “Nintendo has something for everyone on your holiday gift list. Shoppers can stop by to test-drive games, meet Nintendo characters (such as Mario, Luigi, Donkey Kong, Kirby and Pikachu), or just to take a break from their gift hunting and have some fun.”
Nintendo 3DS games available to play will include: Super Mario 3D Land, Mario Kart 7, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, Pokémon Rumble Blast, Star Fox 64 3D, Tetris Axis, nintendogs + cats, Skylanders Spyro’s Adventure from Activision Publishing Inc. (also available for Wii), and Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition from CAPCOM.
Wii games available to play will include: The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, Kirby’s Return to Dream Land, Mario Kart Wii, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Donkey Kong Country Returns, Wii Play: Motion, Wii Sports Resort, Just Dance 3 from Ubisoft, and Zumba Fitness 2 from Majesco Entertainment.
Games for the Nintendo DS family of systems available to play will include: Kirby Mass Attack, Fossil Fighters: Champions, Professor Layton and the Last Specter, and Bejeweled 3 from PopCap.
