While this is a sponsored post by RetailMeNot.com, I really, truly endorse this service as something that I use frequently to save money — and others here at LockerGnome were particularly excited when they heard about this sponsorship because they use it, too. All opinions expressed here are 100% my own.
People are always asking me how I save money, because it’s something that I’ve kind of become famously good at doing. It’s not that I’m a cheapskate, but I do make a point of seeking out bargains and not spending excess money on things — from electronics to housewares to sushi dinners — whenever possible.
If my wife and I go out for a night on the town and only wind up giving away 50% of what that night out would normally cost, it means that we can afford to go out another whole night. Multiply these savings over the course of a year and it’s clear to see that not seeking bargains is a good way to break the bank and have nothing to show for it.
RetailMeNot.com, You Got Some ‘Splainin’ to Do!
So digital coupon destination RetailMeNot.com has a lot to answer for. While its mobile app (available for free at the Apple App Store and Google Play) uses location-based technology to let me know about local deals when I’m out and about, I can just as easily hang out in a bathrobe at my home computer and peruse such deals at RetailMeNot.com on the Web from my favorite browser.
While RetailMeNot.com is ultimately designed to save me money, I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t overwhelmingly instrumental in helping me figure out where to best spend it, as well. And if I want to buy something at a physical store or restaurant instead of online, I don’t even have to print out paper coupons like we did in the olden days (of three or four years ago), because I can just show the cashier the RetailMeNot.com coupon right there on my phone.
Is RetailMeNot.com friend or foe? It’s all a bit much to take in.
RetailMeNot.com is a Friend, Not a Foe! Here’s Why.
Add to this the holidays that are on their way and the relatives who compose my great, big family filling out their wish lists with specific precision once impossible without the assistance of the Internet, well, spending money is an inevitable part of my near future. But seeing as how RetailMeNot.com is going to help me spend less — much less — than I otherwise would, I’m going to count its assistance as a check mark in the “friend” column.
You don’t even have to take my word for it — check it out for yourself, for free. RetailMeNot.com has deals from relevant retailers for LockerGnome’s readers like Best Buy, Amazon, Microsoft, Lenovo, Brookstone, and Target, among others.
