Yes, this is a sponsored post for Staples, but — as always — all opinions are 100% mine.
When espousing the strengths and shortcomings of the tech in my life, I’ve often been told to “put a sock in it.” I can’t help it; new gadgets and devices that didn’t exist yesterday are exciting to me! I geek out to a point where I’m barely discernible from a kindergartener on Pixy Stix being unleashed at the gates of Disneyland.
What? You don’t leash your children? I’m sorry. We’re still new to this whole parenting thing. I already know about the importance of picking good stocking stuffers for what’ll be our daughter’s very first Christmas. Even though she won’t remember it, we’ll be capturing the whole event on video (thanks, technology!) to relive again and again for years to come.
At this point in her young life, she may be more impressed with the stocking, itself, than what’s inside of it — and that’s fine. I know that the dogs would live inside of their stockings if they could still fit like they did when they were puppies. When it comes to bringing our stockings down from the mantel at the appointed time to behold what bounties might be contained within, we all enjoy the experience for our own reasons. But if someone really wants to sock it to me, they’ll stuff my stocking with little bits of tech. Or shiny things. (Or shiny tech, which trumps all!)
Thanks to our good friends at Staples, I’m now aware of some excellent tech-related stocking stuffers that may have me stuffing my own stocking well before Christmas morning. Sure, it spoils the surprise, but it ensures zero disappointment!
No, it won’t all fit in one stocking, but don’t stockings normally come in pairs? If so, I think this stuff might just make it in!
Light Pulse Illuminated Charging Cables
Charging cables are good to have handy, but they’re easy to misplace. I’m using that as my excuse for desiring a set of Light Pulse Illuminated Charging Cables that shine brightly with the power of electroluminescence!
You can’t misplace something that reminds you of its presence by its sheer beauty, can you? As a bonus, I think you’ll agree that this fits easily into the category of shiny tech.
These are a few of my favorite things…
Light Pulse Illuminated Charging Cables will be available from Staples for $19.99-$29.99.
Light Pulse Illuminated Headphones
Maybe you’re not the type of person to misplace charging cables; can you say the same of your headphones? I know that mine always go missing at the most inopportune of times. But what if they pulsed with the same electroluminescent sparkle of the aforementioned Light Pulse Illuminated Charging Cables?
I’m not trying to make even more excuses for padding my nest with shiny tech, but I’m also not going to take points off for something so beautiful and brilliant. That’s why the Light Pulse Illuminated Headphones are earbuds that I’d proudly display anywhere I’m in need of a little audio stimulation with a visual flair.
What’s more appropriate for the holidays than scintillating lights on dangling wires?
Light Pulse Illuminated Headphones will be available from Staples for $29.99.

I/O Magic Virtual Bluetooth KB Projection Keyboard
Most keyboards are unsanitary dirt magnets, but they’re a necessary evil for anyone who needs to type beyond the scope of a normal text message. Dust and crumbs get stuck between the keys, and you’re likely looking at a full replacement if you happen to spill your drink on one.
That’s what makes the I/O Magic Virtual Bluetooth KB Projection Keyboard a dream come true for the clumsy and germophobic, alike. If you’ve got a flat surface and a smartphone, tablet, video game console, PC, Mac, or BlackBerry device — really, just about anything with a Bluetooth connection — you’ve got a keyboard that’s immune to the countless perils of the modern desktop!
I/O Magic Virtual Bluetooth KB Projection Keyboard is available from Staples for $129.99.
PNY T2200 PowerPack
Our smartphones have become our lifelines, which leaves us in danger of being stranded if our batteries run down prematurely. Until we have mobile devices that can power themselves by the motion of the human body or the energy generated by some other snappy, yet undiscovered scientific breakthrough, we’ll have a need for backup power.
The PNY T2200 PowerPack is a tiny, rechargeable battery for your smartphone that gives you a full charge when you need it most, at a price that’s just as tiny for the power of preparedness it gives back.
PNY T2200 PowerPack is available from Staples for $9.99.
