While I’ve been an Amazon Prime member for ages, the company keeps surprising me with new benefits every year. I took advantage of Amazon’s offer of an Amazon Fire TV Stick for only $19 and an early release date. My quick impression of this new product is that it is hot, hot, hot — and here are a few reasons why.
If you’re a Prime member, the Fire Stick TV is programmed with your account information, so it’s ready to go as soon as you open it. Each Fire TV Stick owner gets a free 30-day trial of Amazon Prime, and they only need to register for a new account or sign in with a current Amazon account.
Amazon Fire TV Stick plugs into any available HDMI port on your TV; just plug the adapter into an electrical outlet and follow the simple-to-follow, onscreen instructions. In my experience, setup took under five minutes — including connecting to my wireless network.
How It Works
A handheld remote is included with the new Fire TV Stick, and mastering it is extremely simple. In a matter of minutes, you’ll be whizzing through the menus and apps. The Amazon Fire TV Stick supports all of the major streaming services, including Netflix, Hulu Plus, Crackle, Pandora, YouTube, and many more of your favorites.
The video display is perfect and streaming is flawless. There is absolutely no lag or slowdown. Audio is clear.
I would highly recommend this product to a family member or friend.
The official Amazon Fire TV Stick release date is January 15, 2015, and it will retail for $39.00.
