Privacy

No accounts, no ads, no cookies. LockerGnome doesn’t ask you to sign in, doesn’t show ads and doesn’t set cookies.

Visit counts. We count page views with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which doesn’t use cookies or track you across sites. It tells us which stories people read, and that’s what fills the “Most read this week” list.

Email sign-up. The sign-up box sends the address you type to Substack, which runs Chris Pirillo’s newsletter; Substack’s privacy policy covers it from there. We never see or keep the list.

Your reading choice. If you flip a story to light or dark, your browser remembers that choice on your own device. It never leaves your browser.

Embedded videos and posts. A YouTube video in a story is only a picture until you press play. Then it plays from YouTube’s privacy-enhanced player (youtube-nocookie.com). A story that embeds a post from X loads X’s own script to show it, and X’s privacy policy covers that. Pages without an embedded post never load anything from X.

Links out. Stories link to their sources and to share buttons for other sites. Those sites have their own privacy policies once you click through.

Questions go to @lockergnome on X.
