Ten old Angry Birds and Bad Piggies Windows installers resurfaced in one archive

An Internet Archive upload preserves Windows installers recovered from Rovio’s old download page. Finding the executable is only the first part of getting an old game back.

Angry Birds Star Wars has turned up beside Space, Rio, Seasons, Classic and Bad Piggies in a folder of Windows executables. For anyone who remembers playing these on a PC, a familiar name can make an old installer look tempting before the sensible questions catch up: whose copy, which version, and what does it need to run?

The upload’s file list contains ten EXEs across those seven game names. Classic, Rio and Seasons each have two installer versions. The description calls them “Various Angry Birds PC installers” and says they were downloaded using the Wayback Machine. This is the uploader’s recovery account; it isn’t a new release from Rovio.

The file names make the collection useful before anyone double-clicks anything. Someone maintaining an old gaming PC can compare an installer version with the copy already there. Someone recovering a lost game gets a concrete lead instead of another screenshot of what used to exist.

The next useful preservation record would say which of these versions still installs, activates and plays, with the Windows version alongside it. The filenames are there; the compatibility notes are still waiting to be filled in.
