vivo's X500 Pro Max Goes Global With a 200MP ZEISS Telephoto, and Europe's Battery Is 6,750mAh Where China's Is 8,000mAh
vivo's Spanish store lists the European X500 Pro Max with a 6,750mAh battery from €1,499, while vivo's China spec page lists 8,000mAh for the same phone, the second year in a row Europe's Pro model got the smaller cell.

The camera is the headline vivo wants. The Spanish store describes a 200MP telephoto on “un sensor de 1/1.4”” at 85mm, CIPA 7.0 stabilization, a 6.85-inch 2K display, 90W FlashCharge and the Dimensity 9600 Pro. China’s spec page adds 40W wireless charging and a weight of 225 or 229 grams depending on the finish.
The battery is where the regions split. Spain’s page reads “batería BlueVolt de 6750 mAh.” China’s reads “典型容量:8000mAh(3.71V),” typical capacity, with a rated 7,800mAh. vivo Malaysia lists a “7800mAh BlueVolt Battery,” which matches China’s rated figure.
The smaller X500 Pro didn’t shrink. Spain lists it at 6,510mAh from €1,299, the same number as China’s typical capacity. Only the Max lost cells on the way to Europe.
GSMArena’s launch report says “The global X500 Pro Max gets a slightly smaller 7,800 mAh Si-C battery compared to the Chinese variant’s 8,000 mAh cell.” That’s the Malaysian figure; vivo’s own European store says 6,750mAh. GSMArena also notes “some regions like Europe won’t get the vanilla X500.”
T3’s Mike Lowe offers a reason. “At 6750mAh, it complies with CE Certification and Austria-specific rules,” he writes, adding that “certain countries in Europe set their own thresholds – with Austria, in particular, fixing that ceiling at 6750mAh. It’s a transport safety regulation.” That’s T3’s explanation; vivo’s store page gives none. T3 also reports the UK isn’t part of the European launch.
It happened last year too. Fonearena’s X300 rollout report listed the X300 Pro at “5440mAh (Europe)” against “6510mAh (China).”

| Battery | 6,750mAh | 8,000mAh typical, 7,800mAh rated | 5,440mAh (6,510mAh in China) | 7,150mAh (8,000mAh in China) |

Figures: vivo España, vivo China, Fonearena, and GSMArena’s Find X10 report, which says OPPO’s phone “launched with an 8,000mAh battery in China” and that European units carry “7,150mAh batteries.”
What vivo hasn’t said on its European page: why the battery is smaller, how many years of Android and security updates the phone gets, or whether the 6,750mAh cell changes the battery life it advertises.
Spec sheets travel faster than phones. A launch in Beijing sets the number everyone repeats, and by the time the phone reaches a European store, the box may hold something else. Silicon-carbon cells put 8,000mAh in an 8mm phone; by T3’s account, regional transport rules decide how much of that reaches Europe.
For anyone buying or supporting phones across regions, that makes the model name only half an identifier. The region is the other half.
