Catcopter gives flying cats four paw rotors and a fight over catnip

A browser game makes the helicopter part of the cat anatomy, with team battles and a chicken to steal.

The cat’s four paws are its rotors. That is the entire flight-school orientation for Catcopter, whose Gunship class hovers while carrying a machine gun. Somewhere, a laser pointer has lost its position as the biggest threat in the room.

The menu calls the Gunship “The all-rounder.” Its displayed numbers include 14 meters per second, 100 health and a 60-second battery. Those are the page’s class stats, rather than results from a play test.

Catnip Brawl asks players to collect catnip and knock it out of other cats. Team Battle, Steal the Chicken and Tube Race are also offered. The class choices run from Striker and Gunship to Flak, Bomber and Mechanic.

The page offers automatic server selection and lists Europe and North America. You can name a cat and reach the play control in a browser; this check did not measure server occupancy or establish whether matchmaking will find another human at a particular hour.

The first useful test is whether the four-paw joke survives a full match with friends. The chicken-stealing mode looks ready to make that friendship a little louder.
