Link can play the ocarina with your humming supplying the notes. Nintendo’s remake gives the player another way to perform the songs that change conditions in Hyrule.

The official store page says you can use “traditional button controls” or try humming and your own instruments through the Switch 2 microphone. The button option stays available when performing aloud would annoy the next person on the couch.

Nintendo lists November 5, 2026 as the release date. The announcement trailer provides a look at the remake; the store description establishes the microphone feature. Neither is a test of how accurately a particular person’s humming will be recognized.

The interesting change is the physical input: a melody can come from the player’s voice instead of a sequence of presses. How forgiving that input feels is still a hands-on question.

A familiar tune now has a new input path. The next useful verdict is whether humming it feels natural when the room contains more than one person and one source of sound.
