Evercade Nexus lets two handhelds share one cartridge without a Wi-Fi network

EverSync sends a cartridge game directly to another Nexus for local multiplayer on separate screens.

The second player needs a handheld and can leave the extra game cartridge out of the shopping basket. EverSync shares a cartridge game directly between two Evercade Nexus systems, with a screen for each player.

Blaze’s October 30 announcement, labeled as a supplied press release by Inven Global, says “Only one cartridge is needed.” This is the maker’s description, rather than an independent connection test. A second Nexus remains required.

The direct multiplayer link works without a Wi-Fi network or internet connection, according to that announcement. It describes local sharing for simultaneous play. It does not promise a permanent second copy to keep after the session.

A pair of compatible handhelds is therefore the useful starting point. Anyone already collecting cartridges can ask a concrete question before buying more copies: does the game they want to play together support the session they have in mind?

Direct sharing puts a useful burden on the next hands-on test: show how joining, disconnecting and rejoining work when the second player turns up with only the handheld.
