Honor X8e 4G phone reuses August's X7e Plus, 108MP camera and Snapdragon 685 included, with 400mAh less battery
Honor quietly listed the X8e 4G in Azerbaijan with a 108MP camera, a 7,700mAh battery and 1080p video, and its spec sheet matches the X7e Plus from August except for a smaller battery.

There was no launch event. GSMArena found the phone “spotted on the Honor Azerbaijan site,” and the first thing it noticed was that this is “a phone that is nearly identical to the Honor X7e Plus 4G from August.”
I pulled up both of Honor’s own spec pages to check. The X8e spec page lists a 108MP main camera at f/1.75, a Snapdragon 685, a 6.87-inch 1592×720 LCD, 6GB of RAM with 256GB of storage, 45W charging and IP68, IP69 and IP69K water and dust ratings. The X7e Plus spec page lists the same camera, the same chip, the same 1080p at 30fps video, the same ratings and the same 168.3 × 78.54 × 8.30mm body.
The battery is where they split. The X8e is rated at “7700 mAh (tipik dəyər), 7500 mAh (nominal dəyər),” typical and rated in Azerbaijani. The X7e Plus is “8100 mAh (typical value), 7900 mAh (rated value).” GSMArena points out both phones weigh 218g at the same thickness, “so this might be an artificial cap to comply with regulations.” Honor hasn’t said why.
The chip is the other thing to know about before you pay. GSMArena calls the Snapdragon 685 “an all-time classic that belongs in a museum,” a 6nm part that “provides only 4G connectivity,” and it’s why “the choice of chipset limits video recording to just 1080p.” Wi-Fi tops out at Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth at 4.2.
The tough-phone pitch is real, at least on paper. Honor’s overview page claims drops from 2.5 meters onto granite, operation from -30 to 50°C, a six-year durability target and a battery that stays above 80% after five years in Honor’s lab. GSMArena adds an SGS “5-star impact resistance rating.”

Honor X7e figures are from its Azerbaijan spec page. Samsung’s Galaxy A08 LTE listing gives the price, IP64 and 25W adapter support, and nothing else in this table. GSMArena’s own price comparison is local: “Local retailers sell it for AZN 820 – that’s $480, but for context, a Galaxy A08 4G is AZN 590,” and “another retailer has the X8e at AZN 688.”
If you buy phones for a crew that works outside, this is the interesting part. A 4G phone with IP69K and a battery Honor says holds 80% after five years is a fleet phone, and the X7e Plus already carries Android Enterprise Recommended status on its spec page. Nobody at Honor has said whether the X8e gets the same badge.
Why now is the open question. The X7e Plus is two months old and nothing on Honor’s pages says it’s going away. So in some markets you may see both on one shelf, and the one with the bigger number holds less charge.
Check the battery line first.
